    acoustic wave (aw1) problem

my acoustic wave radio/cassette (aw1, 800229) takes up to an hour to make sound when first turned on.

have stereo lock and tape turns immediately.

when it finally does start working it seems fine but if turned off momentarily
it takes several minutes to come on again.

a bad capacitor came to mind.

Bose has not responded to my request for information.

opened it up to find out i do not want to poke around without at least a
    schematic.

sure would appreciate any advice/info (schematic)

thank you very much, gordon , gormak@live.com

    Re: acoustic wave (aw1) problem

bose tends to be unfriendly towards DIYers and servicemen not "authorized," so if you can't find it in a google search, it is likely that the schematic is closed internally. Just post a picture and test the capacitors, replace 'em, and see what happens.

That would indicate that low power circuits are working normally.

a bad capacitor came to mind.
Those symptoms actually do NOT lead one to think of bad capacitors. Once the sound is present, is it distorted or good quality? If good quality, then poor solder connections would come to mind. Other troubleshooting steps might include checking line output (if available) for audio, and/or checking headphone output when the main audio is not working.

No surprise there. I'll bet you can fix this problem with a good pair of eyes and a dvm!
      Is it plugged in?

Problem with LG Plasma 60PM6700 - Random power downs
        by theone111
I have an LG Plasma TV 60PM6700 for the past ~12 years.

In the last ~3-4 months I have been having some issues.
        1. Problem: It started with random picture disappearing (sound still worked).
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait a few seconds before turning it on again.
        2. Problem: Then it got worse and the TV started to shut down and when turning on the no picture just sound.
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait about 10-20 seconds and turn it on again to solve.
        3. Problem: TV shuts down
