    oven display flickers

    Hi all,

We have a Jenn-Air W30100W wall unit oven. The display ( LEDs ??) characters flicker a little, and some of the characters are partly lit so that it is getting harder to read the display.

A new display ( I believe it is called the Clock assembly) is hard to find and is about $200.

Can I fix this myself ?
Is this a case of bad caps ?
I know how to solder caps.

    Thanks.

If you had used the search function on this site you would have found this:

It could be bad caps causing low supply voltage, or the VFD (vacuum fluorescent display) has slowly gassed out somewhat. It is also possible that the phosphor has wore off too.
