    UCC LL Series

I'm looking for the datasheet for the Nippon Chemi-con LL series, used in the 70's. Trying to figure out why the schematic for my reel to reel lists them as "10uf, 25wv (NL)" The other 10uf caps do not have the (NL) after them. At first I thought they were bi-polar, but they are not.

I have some bi-polar caps here, but I'm not sure I want to use them. These are all caps used in the audio circuits.

I found out that these are Low Leakage caps. Panny FC series should be fine for this, shouldn't it?

Some caution here. Low leakage caps are different. Low ESR caps are not focused on low leakage, usually because they are applied to high current circuits. Low leakage are applied to low current, higher impedance circuits where leakage may impact on the DC operating conditions. The leakage is similar to tantalum, you could replace with 10u 25V tantalum.

        Re: UCC LL Series

I don't want to use tants unless I have to... I've had way too many problems with them in audio circuits in the past. They cause all sorts of random noise and crackling when they get to be a few years old.

Maybe I'll just leave the originals in place and recap the rest. It sounded good before, but I want it to be 100% reliable.

Would poly or mylar be ok, if I can find them small enough to physically fit?

Joe, He needs 10uF 25V in a Samxon L series. Can you supply?

                    Hi Joe,

How does the Samxon LL compare to these?
                    https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...3758aead7c.pdf

The Xicon are $0.24 each. How much are the Samxon LL? I need 8 of them I think.

Thanks Joe, you're the best! Do you still have my shipping address?

I was hoping to get the project done in a week or so, but I can wait a bit.

It looks like the Samxon may be slightly better than the Xicon. They have higher temperature range and just a bit less leakage.

After it is done, I will post a video on Youtube of it running, and will give credit to those here who helped me find caps and stuff

Next restoration project is my old Sony TC-200 from 1964
