HP EliteBook 2540P - Aluminum Foil on Speakers

Hello,
I have the HP EliteBook 2540P and when I disassembly the screen I cut accidentally one aluminum foil where it was on the top of the one speaker. What is the purpose of these aluminum foils on the top of the speakers.

That "speaker" looks like a microphone to me (there's two), the foil Is only for shielding, it won't affect anything in practice, nothing to worry about
In theory, maybe a tiny unnoticeable amount of noise picked up by that mic
