    run cap for portable a/c

Quick question I got a CBB65 run cap here rated for 35 mfd with 5% 250VAC 70 Celsius. There's a surplus store here in orlando that has capacitors, there is a 35 MFD with 5% but rated for 450VAC, it's not a CBB65 but I didn't record the information so I will have to go back sometime this week.

does a higher voltage rating matter?

Ok, good, I just wanna make sure there wasn't a different set of rules for AC and motor loads.

Just make sure it is made for that use because they are exposed to high current.

Yeah... if you use a start cap as a run cap, it will fail very quickly (within a few minutes). Using a run cap in place of a start cap is okay, as long as the specs match up.
