    DELL XPS 700 Desktop PSU

I have a motherboard from a DELL XPS 700 desktop tower. This motherboards power supply connections can be seen here ---> http://support.dell.com/support/edoc....htm#wp1060771 This particular motherboard has 2 power supply connections. 1 being a standard 24 pin and the other a non-standard 20 Pin (gotta love Dell.) Could I use a standard power supply for the 20 pin if I rewired it and if so, how would I wire the 20 pin connection?

Seems odd that a single socket motherboard needs two atx connections.

Looking at specs, you need a 1 KW PSU or 750W PSU. The pin layout on power1 are not the same as power2.

You could splice it doing a solder job or using wire taps/nuts, You have the pin lay outs on both, I don't see why not just use a high enough PSU like a 750 would do it.

Frankly I would just buy the proprietary PSU off ebay or google shopping or some where and when you get it, test it and then recap it.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
        by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

        Assuming...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
        by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

        Dell H235P-00 Power Supply Failure
        by Info13
        Hi everyone,
A H235P-00 power supply unit from a Dell Optiplex 760 PC is faulty.
After removing it from the computer, I placed a paper clip between the green and black wires, then connected it unloaded to the mains through a series lamp.

        ➡️ First test:
The PSU partially works: the green indicator LED lights up, and the fan starts for one second, then stops.
A click can be heard at the moment it stops. The series lamp lights up when the power supply starts, then turns off when it shuts down.

I then followed the advice from the forum and replaced...
