    Re: Identify this stencil please

The wrinkling/bubbling (similar to PCB delamination) as seen on the picture is usually caused by excessive amount of heat concentrated on a small area. What was the soldering iron temperature set to and type of tip used? What size of wick was used and was it cut into small pieces or used as a part of the roll?

I'm still convinced there is some damage to the green plastic part of the BGA in the same area the pad came off
I use anti static clean room wipes or foam pads to clean off the flux, nice and smooth to avoid the possibility of causing damage.

Try cutting the braid to small size, maybe 2cm strips (use the 2mm width) rather than using it on the roll.

When using it on the roll, the whole thing acts as a heatsink, which means heating one spot of the chip for longer until the wick reaches temperature. (Using a wider braid just adds to the heat-up time).

I usually bend the edge of the wick strip 90 degree and use a bent nose tweezer to move it around. There was a noticeable difference for me atleast.

My setup is very similar to yours but with slightly lower temperature (320C with Hakko BC3 T12)

Its also easier and better to clean the chip/PCB right after desoldering since its still hot and therefore less likely to lift pads, etc.

What type of foam pads do you use? Any links/brand?

                by thesame
Hy guys , i have a DVR board DS-80104 REV 2.2 that was powered wrong, i have some smds on the board that are blown and i can't identify them , maybe if someone has this board somehow and we can identify the smds', i have searched online and i can't find a schematic.
The smds are SOT-23-6 , one of them i think it has the marking ADJF since i found another one on the board with this marking , but the other one it seems that it starts with AG or it looks like. I would really apreciate if someone could help me identify those IC's .

Lenovo Legion 7 - Help Identify IC
                by silver60618
Hi gang, its a long shot, but working on Lenovo Legion Pro 7 motherboard NM-F091, and trying to identify this component near GPU with marking "eHFQH" that is burned and shorting the board. Looks like power management IC

I couldnt find any schematic or boardview. The CPU side also has same chip. Any way to identify this chip? or take measurements from the good chip to determine what it is?

                Any help would be appreciated...

How can I identify varistor which have been blew up?
                by chth96
I mistakely pluged 100v japanese retro game console to 220v outlet.
So It seems that glass fuse and varistor have been blew up.
I can identify that voltage and ampere value of glass fuse(250V LF 1.6A),but It is impossible to identify varistor type in my sega saturn PSU(YAMAHA 35M07U XR258)
Is there any way to identify varistor type in my sega saturn PSU?
                Any reply would be appreciated.

                EDIT:
It seems that I finally found out what type this black varistor is. It is Panasonic ERZV05D221 “ZNR” Transient/Surge Absorbers (Type D) Varistor Voltage...

Operating frequency for motherboard common mode inductor/filter
                by J_T
I have a question - I have replaced the PSU on my own iMac Pro. However, when removing the motherboard I knocked of a 120 OHM 30% 0.3A small surface mount common mode inductor/filter (~0602 size) in the ethernet circuit near the female RJ45 port.

The closest match I can find on Mouser is 120 OHM common mode inductor at 100MHz - my question is this frequency correct for a motherboard? The schematic for the motherboard only provides '120 OHM 30% 0.3A' and the TDK part number does not return anything in google.

Sorry, I am not experienced hence a basic question.
