    Portable WiFi scope

Has anyone any experience of using one of these

    Velleman Wifi Scope
    http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/velleman-2...e-wfs210-n71dp

Maplin's have them for 80 quid. I was just wondering if this would be of use when working on the live side of SMPS where obviously you can not attach a normal scope without an isolation transformer or doing something dangerous with the scopes earth connection.

I do have an isolation transfomer which I use to power the device under test when practical but it's not an easy thing to lug around

As the wifi scope is battery powered and completely isolated (via wifi) from the PC it would seem it could be rather useful for this purpose.

    Any thoughts?

Looks good but relatively cheap in price (skeptical). If it looks too good to be true, usually it is. I had to look for a Pound to US Dollar exchange to see that its only about $100 USD. I wouldnt trust it.

OOPS THATS EURO. SORRY. I TAKE THAT BACK. But its still about the same price. CHEAP.

If it's £79.99 at Maplin it's almost certainly available cheaper elsewhere
