    Kenwood SG-5110 signal generator - seeking Instruction Manual

    Today, I received a Kenwood SG-5110 signal generator, and I am after an Instruction Manual for this unit (I have a copy of the Service Manual).
    It took some trial and error to find the right settings for FM Stereo.
    My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

          Amendment: Subcarrier/External L+R should be Subchannel/External L+R.

              Another amendment: Main/100%: Internal tone generator for FM Stereo should be Main channel for FM Stereo.

                  I just bought the same signal generator, also without instruction manual. So I can't help you, but I would appreciate if you could send me the service manual - provided you have it available as pdf, of course!

                          Good day folks. A former colleague of mine recommended me to a relative of his and I got to speak to this man today in person. He's a bit of a mad scientist/tinkerer sort-of guy - just my kind of weirdo Apparently this chap builds all sorts of generators and wind turbines in his little shop at home and sells them here and there. He even showed me some footage of some of his inventions in action out in the field. However, as he himself very kindly put it, he's not good with electronics - he just designs and builds the generators (from scratch, I might add) and turns to others for the electronic...

                          So the oscilloscope needs calibrating, which needs a function generator...

                          The function generator also needs calibrating, and the manual is not in the clearest English.

                          First line in the calibration section of the manual is, "1. Push function switch to OFF position, load 50 ohms".

                          Is this '50 ohms' a dummy load, or is that the impedance of the cable which connects to a scope for example?


                          The generator is a Minipa MFG-4201 which is also known as an Escort EGC-3230 and a Kenwood FG-273
