    Re: B&K 4070A help..!

This webpage from B & K has manuals for a bunch of B & K equipment. the 4070A is about 2/3 of the way down the page. Sometimes Googling "(Brand Name) (Model #) User Manual" (or schematic) finds something useful.

Power Supplies should be boring: No loud noises, no bright flashes, and no bad smells.

ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING — Board not powering on properly
            by ShadowAi12
            Hi,
I recently bought an ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING motherboard that was listed as "dead, not powering on." However, it does show some signs of life. I've performed several basic measurements and would like to share the results.
            • The board enters a "ready to power on" state after plugging in the PSU.
            • Pressing the power button increases power draw.
            • Sometimes, touching the RSMRST_L pad with a multimeter probe causes the board to shut off and return to standby.
            Measurements:
(taken after pressing the power button, while the board is attempting to start)

Using a scope to see fuel injector waveform?
            by madan1
            Hello folks.
What is the correct way to view the waveform of an injector ( petrol engine )?
I have one of those kit scopes and would like to hook it to a GM Ecotec engine and see the injector waveforms... so how should I connect it?
The injectors have constant B+ and the B-/ground goes through the control module/computer.
            Thanks in advance....

Old Pioneer Amp - Waveform explanation
            by Nevillet
            Hi All,

I have been cleaning up a Pioneer A5 amplifier (C.1981) by cleaning connections, pots and switches. ESR on the electrolytics was all fine. I adjusted the bias as per the service manual to 0.31V.

I put a 8 ohm, 100W resistive load and and compared the channels under noticed a kind of distortion on one channel, not clipping as such, but distortion of the sine wave.

Can anyone please explain why one channel would show this kind of distortion and where I should look for a fault.

The screen grab shows L&R channels displaying a...

            Asus P4C800-E VRM issues
            by c_corr
This board had the initial fault in VRM with high side Mosfet from PWM1 (phase 1) getting very hot. It also had the VRM caps quicly heating up in 10-15 seconds after power on.

This board uses mext ICs and Mosfets in VRM:
            - ADP3180 PWM controller - in 3 phase mode
            - ADP3418 as Modfet drivers
            - High side Mosfets STD38NH02L (from ST)
            - Low side Mosfets STD90NH02L

Some of the symptoms were very similar with the "Dead Asus P5P800-VM" in this forum.
I had the sawtooth voltage on Vcore too this was probably the cause of the Vcore caps...

            Boss DD-3 (b) Problem
            by Unluckyfett
Bypass works, direct out works. Delay signal is not right. Clock seems to be working. I replaced all 10uf electrolytics just because. No change. Based on sound and experience, should I be looking at the AD part or the DA part? I found a breakdown of how the microcontroller samples 12bit audio, I have a scope, I plan on doing more probing, just bothering me as I sit at home with it on my bench at work waiting to be fixed. If I'm reading correctly pin 7 on IC5 should be ≈ input signal. And pin 7 on IC8 should be delayed waveform? So if I have clean delayed waveform on IC8, the problem...
