Blue ESR Reading 0.0?

I recently bought the Blue ESR Meter and got it put together. It measures the resistors fine during calibration but when a measure caps I seem to get 0.0 on quite a few new and old caps. Is this normal? I read somewhere the 0.0 is impossible and would normally point to a shorted cap.

Might be worth me noting that I did change the probes out. I ordered the normal probes in addition to the meter but never received them so I started out using the clips that came with the kit. I went to radio shack and bought a set of probes and changed them out. However I get the same readings no matter what probe and cable combination I use.

Are you zeroing out the leads before you take a measurement?

After the meter is switched on, you need to short the test leads together & press the on/off button again to zero out the resistance of the test leads.

Yes I'm zeroing it out. And on some caps I get a reading (usually higher voltage ie 50v) but on 10-25v it seems hit or miss if it reads 0.0 or something else.

Have you got this working yet? I bought the kit a couple weeks ago and it works fine. Is your's reading .00 when you short the leads out?

I just finished my kit yesterday and it seems to be working fine.
