    The Cheapest but valid solder

I know that recapping motherboard or similar stuff needs good stuff, but for people who want learn/practice in recapping art, or people who needs to recap stuff 1-2 times in 3 years, a Weller solder may be too expensive.
What's the best choice at the very less money possible (firestarter-like too)?
I'm saying that, because later a training time, i'll buy a good solder station.

I thought you were talking about the actual alloy. Anyway, i don't actually have a soldering station as in temperature controlled iron. I do fine with a 25W iron which i can use for almost anything including mounting SMDs that only have legs on two sides, and a 65W when more grunt is required or when i'm cannibalizing boards.

I do have a hot air SMD rework station though but it's just a china special, a ZD-939B.

The Hakko 936 is the best $75 I ever spent!

You may as well wait and get something good first time.

Even if you only do boards sometimes, you still want to do them properly, right?

A second-hand one in good condition is a good option, if you can't afford a brand new one right now.

Get fresh soldering wire. Saving money will only cost you more. I use 0.15mm wire and 0.5kg pack. I have wire pulled from the drawer, hanging over it so it doesn't use place on my desk.

Tenma (Farnell-rebranded) 21-10115 solder station question
              by Crystaleyes
              Olá.

Looking for some help clarifying something.

I have a Tenma (Farnell-rebranded) 21-10115 solder station which recently burnt out the ceramic element.
              The station is 60W / 28 volts, 110v.

Right now I'm in Brazil and finding an equivalent element has proved to be not possible, so today I bought a 'Yaxun' 50W 24v iron in the hope that it would work.

Both irons have a five pin plug.

The Tenma had pins 1 & 2 and pins 4 & 5 shorted with pin 3 being the ground. No means of measuring the temperature.

862D+ solder station iron out of control when fan on
              by liquidzorch
              Hello.
I have a soldering station, 862D+, and every time the hot air gun is on, even if it is just cooling off, the soldering iron controller stops controlling. Let me explain what has happened so far, as it took a while to get to this.
First, the switch that turns on the hot air gun started to fail, the light came on, but temp never rose, I would have to switch it multiple time to get the gun to start heating, this was due to the contact inside being carbonized. I opened the switch up, clean the contacts, and it would work fin for a while until carbonized again. So, I ordered a switch...
