    Update on Samsung PN58B650S1F turning on / off

    TV would not find firmware update on my usb when prompted to do so. I also noticed that the firmware loaded into the TV was more current than the one available from the Samsung website as a download, so I'm not sure if it would of made a difference anyway.

    The important info is as follows. While trying to update the firmware I unplugged all devices and Ethernet connection. I attempted to use the widgets and the tv stayed on. Widgets would not update but the icons and everything else were fine. Again, the TV stayed on!
    With any HDMI input, or even if I tried to run the picture test from the help menu the TV would turn off.

    Just for kicks I connected the cable box to the TV via coaxial cable. Put the source on tuner and set it to channel 3. TV has been running now for 3 hours!

    WHAT DOES THIS MEAN NOW??? I'm going nuts trying to figure this out!!!!
    I cant break it anymore than it already is!

          I had a samsung PN58A55081F plasma set with the same issue. The power would come on for about 10 seconds, then click and it would lose power for a couple seconds, then fire back up again. I diagnosed it as a main board issue by shunting the PS_ON pin to the GND pin, forcing a power up. The tv fired up and stayed on. Now I just have to replace a couple ICs and it will be fixed.

              Samsung UE46EH5000 - Flashing red light but not turning on

              I aquired a Samsung UE46EH5000 from a lady that said it was turning on and off so she just purchased a new one.
              On plugging into the mains and turning on i get a solid red light.
              On using the on/off button or remote i just get a flashing red light in a pattern of flash/flash gap flash/flash gap flash/flash etc.
              Opened it up and disconnected the main board from the power board by removing the connecting ribbon cable with the hope of getting either a 'no backlight' or a 'working backlight' but got neither,i just got a blinking backlight that turned on and off randomly...

              Hi,

              I have a Samsung PN51D6500 and like last year every once in awhile it would do this on/off every like 10 mins or so. Was able to keep the tv off and wouldn't come back for a long time. Just recently it is doing it much more often. Turns off and on every 5-10 minutes while watching the tv. Any ideas?

              I have a little experience fixing a tv but not all that much. I replaced the LED backlights on a previous tv when the screen went blank.

              Good day folks. It's been entirely too long since I've fixed TVs so I'm a bit rusty with all these new models. I have this Samsung set on my bench which doesn't turn on: you plug it in, power LED comes and stays on, but when I try to turn it on, the LED flashes twice in rapid succession, pauses, then flashes twice again and so on. The backlight comes on if I disconnect the main board from the power supply. I tried disconnecting the two large LVDS cables for the panel but nothing changes.

              Based on some info I found on similar models, there may still be hope, as others have reported...
