I think there is another way to download that bios, but the bios will not be a full image. So we need your Original Backup and your Device Service Tag.

The extracted exe only contains a 12MB update, not a full bios image.

Wrong one. It will be sop8,sop16 or a WSON8 chip and the size of the chip 16,384Kb - 16MB.What programmer and software version are you using, are you using the auto-detect setting or manual. Are you using a clip or have you desoldered the chip. What is the part number on top of the chip.

Ive built a bios for you.Made a copy of your bios backup, merged the update using a hex editor, copied the service tag and win key ,and cleaned the ME firmware.Let me know if it works ok.

Re: Alienware Aurora R12 BIOS Request

I have an alienware laptop, and the BIOS update is an exe file. I really don’t want to disassemble the entire laptop to do an external flashing, so is there anyway I can download their BIOS update file and apply intel ME cleaner, then repack it to use Dell’s internal flashing tool?

I want to know how to merge the original 32m bios and the 12M version and need a Device Service Card,,,to get the new 32m bios,,, I wonder if it's too complicated to understand?

Not exactly sure what can be done here, I have a Alienware Aurora R12 that was rebooted mid bios update and the original owner tried to buy a chip off of Ebay and fix it. That went about as well as you can imagine.
I'm trying to rewrite the bios to recover the computer but I think I'm a bit over my head here. I bought a 341a programmer and have been able to dump what ever is left off the original chip into a file but this is where I'm hosed.

I'm trying to expand my knowledge but I'm also interested in just getting this working first.

What assistance can you offer me here?

As requested, here is a dump from the original bios chip. The service tag is in the file name.

                                        Hi,
I've had an ssd that was previously used on dell xps 8960 and then it was installed in Alienware Aurora R15(intel version). On first windows boot in R15 windows started bios update and loaded bios for xps 8960(r15 and xps8960 essentially have same motherboards).

Now it has xps 8960 bios that looks different from alienware bios and when I'm trying to run bios update files for R15, I get unsupported platform error.

                                        These models have AMI/Aptio BIOS.

Tried to edit product info with DMI Edit to change values back to Alienware R15, but it does not want...

Alienware 13R3 bios mod request - to disable dedicated graphics (dgpu failure)
                                        by Mr.Ultimate
Hi everyone, hope to get someone to help and modify bios rom for me.
I need to disable dedicated nvidia graphics chip permanently.

GPU chip had failed(cracked silicon DIE) and I can only use laptop without failing if I disable nvidia graphics in dev manager (but it still draws power from battery and generates thermal signature.

Ideally if it was disabled from bios at preboot.

I believe it is possible, because if I attatch external alienware graphics amplifier , laptop at boot will disable dedicated graphics #1 (failed one) and will only boot with AGA...

                                        ASUS TP500LA BIOS request/repair/merge?
                                        by jbonavita
Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
                                        Some issues
                                        A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

                                        Things I tried

1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...

[REQUEST] Dell G3 3579 BIOS Password & AMI Protected Range/BIOS Guard Unlock
                                        by zenius
Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

                                        Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....
