Why not? Do you not know the Voltage source, the load current, etc.?

<sarcasm> Thanks for turning me on to aliexpress.com ... BUDDY! </sarcasm> I think I wasted about 6 hours yesterday throwing crap in my cart that I knew I would never buy but I wanted a list to narrow down ... those prices are almost too good to be true - although I realize they make up for it in long shipping times ... and being on the site is like watching old re-runs of CHIPS ... just so ... klunky and old school in the layout. But addicting none-the-less ...

exacty, however - there are times when too much brightness is a problem.
that's why i'm looking at the newer drivers that can do 5%, 30%, 50%, 100% or other combinations.
the "epilepsy"strobe & SOS modes dont interest me.

what pisses me off is all the cheap lights use 20mm boards, but all the interesting drivers are 17mm.

I had not noticed that ... sounds like a job for a 3D printer ;-)

By the way ... my order was a whopping $3.60 ... I ordered some more LEDs too ... I have no idea how they turn a profit... and strobe modes on a flashlight .... they've had them on flashlights since before I was born and in all my 48 years I have never once heard anyone say "Boy that ended up being a handy feature..." I wonder how many unnecessary clicks that feature has forced on innocent push buttons since the beginning and I wonder how that would equate to MTBF wear and tear to the point of failure ... in other words ... I wonder just how many meaningless pushbutton deaths we can attribute to that worthless annoying feature.

                                      that's easy,
the higher end drivers have programable modes.

options for current <<< select the right board!

I just whipped this up on the 3D printer in about 10 minutes ... should work as an adapter ... if you want, show m the particular 17mm board you're interested in, I'll order it and I'll make an adapter that works and if you have access to a 3D printer, ill send you the file, if not, I'll print up a bunch of them and mail them to you.

wont work, it has to be electrically conductive to carry the negative rail.
it also has to support the spring pressure against the battery.
i also doubt it's a good idea to use anything that softens if it gets hot!!

a machined aluminium ring may work, i was just going to mount the 17mm board against the 20mm one.
