Samsung UE32F5000 (UK model) with no display. Power supply is OK.

    Hi all,

I have a Samsung UE32F5000 (UK model) with the dreaded standby light blinks 5 times and no display. Using a flashlight I can see a message on screen when I push the menu button, so I guess that means the main board is OK. I've tried replacing the power board but still get the same thing. I presume therefore it must be the inverter, but I can't see how on earth I get to it with this model. The connector from the power board just goes straight into the panel (on the left).

Any help would be much appreciated. I've attached a photo. I don't have any multimeter, sadly.

No inverter in this set. It is LED backlit so power supply will generate LED drive current.

99% sure you'll have an open circuit LED in the LCD panel - a pain to replace as the panel itself has to come apart. Becoming a -very- common issue with Samsung sets.

Thanks for the fast reply. I was worried you might say something like that! Is it very awkward to fix?

OK, I've taken the panel apart and can see five Sharp LED strips. Presumably the problem is in one of these?

You can try testing each with a 3V coin cell (CR2032) battery.

Are any of the leds burned? Is it a 5 double blink?

Hi guys, sorry to hijack. Having the same problem with my TV of the same model.

No picture but sound, can see the imagine in a dark room if you put a torch up to it. I'd previously read that this was like be the inverter but I've opened it up and similar to Sam I can't see an inverter.

Completely new to this but it's out of warrenty so I thought I'd have a go at fixing it.

Can you please advise me what to check next?

Are you sure you are talking about the same model? The Samsung UE32F5000 uses LED for backlights so it does not have INVERTER board which is used for TV that has CCFL TUBES. See post 2.

Yup I can confirm that when I opened it up that it had NO obvious inverter board.

Model Code on the label is: UE32F5000AKXU and as far as I know it's the UK model.

It does not use inverter board because it does not use CCFL, it uses LEDs for backlights.
So you should upload pictures for your TV back side that shows all the boards first.

Please up load the pictures of YOUR TV, we will need to see the whole backside of the TV that shows ALL the board and then the pictures of each board.

I ask for YOUR pictures because I do not know which board revIsion you have in your TV, same TV model can have more than one version used in the TV.
What are the P/N of YOUR boards?
and 'and then the pictures of each board.'.
So far none of the people here even offer the give out the P/N of the boards after I requested.
