Great, so the Zener did show 2K when you test with Ohm meter?
7.5V should be OK or 12V 1/2W will be more than enough, as you can see in the application notes, there is no clamping Zener diode being used.
"Can i do without the zener? if it can light up, i suppose it is more for circuit protection and at most it will fry the opto or 264 should another surge occur?" Yes you can,that is correct.

2k came from 264 for some reason

Hi need help with my delta board power supply. Symptoms are no power no standby lights. I found IC blown apar R 7914 open and changed diodes. Still no power. I have 120vac in and some DC going out not sure where to look out. What watt Is the 2.2 ohm resistor suppose to be. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

TNY264AP. The resistor R7918 2.20 Ohms is 1/2W MOX Flame proof, it is for supplying the Voltage from AUX winding of the STBY transformer for running the PFC IC and the SMPS IC of the 12V/24V power supply. The R7914 is the fusible resistor for supplying B+ to run the IC.
You also need to check the snubber network D7908, 7909.
So do you have about 165VDC between the negative leg of the main filter cap and either legs of R7914?
DCV between the two legs of the running cap C7915?

Yes replaced that board still nothing but do you know what wattage is r7914 the 2.2ohm resistor

1/2W. Is it open? That section of the circuit if for supply the VCC to run the PFC and the 12V/24V SMPS.
I updated my post 48.
So you still do not have the standby Voltage? Snubber diodes are OK?

I have 165vdc from negative of cap to r7914 and r7918. Also from cap to D7908 D 7909 4vdc and 5 Vdc on other side. I've replaced both diodes with same reference number 5383b

D7908 and D7909 are NOT the same. Please look at the original diode D7909.
D7908 is 150V ZENER DIODE 1N5383.

Both diodes replaced with the same numbers labeled. Still no stand by power. Probably main board?

You can disconnect the cable between the power supply and the main board to see if that standby Voltage will come up. If not, then we need to do more troubleshooting in that power supply section.

I have a DPS-304BP-1 A power board from a Sharp LC-42D64U with a blown IC7905 and a bad R7914. I can't seem to find info on the resistor. This thread sounds exactly like mine. The resistor is a 2.2 ohm resistor, I'm just unsure of what kind it is and where to get one. Can someone help me find what type of resistor I can replace it with? Thanks.

R7914 is the 2.2 OHMS FUSIBLE resistor 1/4W (or 1/2W, you have to measure the dimension) for supplying B+ to run the STBY power supply section, (you can use 2.2 Ohms MOX type which is Flame proof )that will blow open when that SMPS IC for the STBY power supply shorted out. R7918 is still OK?

R7918 still test good along with D7908 and D7909. How do I determine if it is a 1/4W or a 1/2W? Looking on Digi-Key they are the same physical size. It looks like they have the 1/2W in stock, and can order them individually, but I would have to buy 5,000 of the 1/4W to order them.
