Actually looking 80+ org site it, looks like the latest gen. Enermax might be a bit better overall.
    Unless I'm misinterpreting the data?

if your only pulling about 70w check the curve charts for efficiency.
a lot are crap if the draw is too low.

I think it's saying that the 87++ won't be out till the end of the year.
i.e. it's not out now or in a few weeks....

But those other enermax PSU's I linked to (Ecos line) look just as good as the x650 I think.

            Apparently the x-650 is 88.8 at 65w (10%)
Dunno if there's others around now that do better.

Guess I'll just have to systematically go through the 80+ Org website.
But half the PSU's on that site aren't actually on the market are they?

230v testing is usually saved for server type units, but in other countries where it's used as a standard is different. Usually they don't test at 230v because psu's are more efficient at 230v. 80plus wants to make sure they can still do their labeled efficiency at the lowest standard input voltage.

The seasonic x650 would probably not be too far from platinum when tested on 230v.

                  Intriguing thanks for explaining this!
I'd love to find some actual results of testing on 230v but maybe later, woah 2am, night.

you seem to be sweating efficiency a bit too much. i'd say 88.8 is good, you're starting to split hairs...

@Scenic your point about searching is correct.
                                    I know the device's name....

I've seen others claim that most Gold/Plat PSU's on this site are merely proposals.
i.e. they're not RTM. I was just seeking affirmation of that....

The release date is mostly speculation based on how the 87+ series was released (IIRC they were on 80+.org ad around half later finally in shops). There were no info about the 87++ and our editor who took the photos didn't ask…
