Am going to install Ubuntu 5,04 (Hoary Hedgehog) on 2x HP BrioPC with mendocino 433 and PhoenixBIOS and 2x whitebox system with tualeron 1700 (?) and AwardBIOS. Does anyone know of any password backdoors for the BIOSes as they are all p/w protected and none of them have CD as first boot device.

Re: password backdoors?
Pull the battery out for a couple hours, that will discharge it, and erase any passwords. Of course you'll have to reset all the BIOS parameters also.<--- Badcaps.net Founder

Re: password backdoors?
Try the clear CMOS jumper - the usage is described here http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...cname=bph07169 (you need to turn the power on with the jumper in the "clear" position).
