Re: Server 2003 OEM Licenses on Sale for Cheap

GPS exists in every vehicle sold after 2000
Only in onstar equipped cars. I've been through everything in my car and would love to have found a GPS.

Aye, that was a broad exaggeration. Find me one in a 2005 City Rover, 2001 Suzuki Swift, Honda Civics, etc etc.

        If I'm wrong, my apologies.
        I drive a '91 pickup.

However, I would not be surprised at all if Big Brother had GPS in every vehicle, available to the customer or not.

Manufacturers won't add gps to a car unless you paid for it somehow... still costs too much for them to throw it in there.

Plus, everything, including the ECU management is regulated, and the last time police tried to get "remote shutoff" installed in vehicles, people said "No", and it wasn't added. But, it sure would of been fun with a transmitter shutting down cars on the freeway... LOL

Too many people work on cars, it would be found out in short order. Things like remote shutoff can be removed. What would it do? Explode if you tamper with it?

Try to remove Internet Explorer from your system and see what happens..
Manufacturers will add to a car, what they are told to add to a car.

California emissions package is one of them.
It's voluntary, of course, but the car is not allowed here without it.

My apologies for mis-stating the GPS. I know better than to take hear-say as factual...

Please resume your normally scheduled drinking.
I am hoping to score another 2003 license or two, before they all get away.

I have too many friends who do motor swaps. Everything in GM's ecu's can be disabled easily. The typical thing to do when you are dropping an LS1 into an older car is to disable the key security, and some other features which you don't use. Trust me, tracking in ECU, and in vehicles isn't there, or it would be all over the net. Too many people mod their vehicles for this not to be found. Most vehicles now are easily software modified. The older ECU's (OBD1) were all hard coded, and you had to physically change the chip inside the ecu, or go with something like Hondata, or the AEM ecu, or like wise.

Yeah, manufacturers can add stuff, but believe me, one way or another, it can be disabled or modified. You can't stop the car modder community.

if you found your car had gps or remote shutoff, you just ground the antenna line.

just like you do on the return-channel on cable-boxes.
