    Again. no-go.
Why no go? What did it say? This method should work.

I got one last idea that hit me the other night.
The IDE controller in the thing accepts two drives (master/slave) and if I'm right, the laptop IDE connector is just the regular IDE/ATA interface in a PC, just smaller and with power running over several pins.
If I rig up a ribbon cable so I can connect thwe hard drive AND a regular PC grade cd drive running off an external power source, since the BIOS will allow booting from an CD drive I should in theory pop the disc in and it will start the install as it normally should in a PC.

      Anyone care to confirm this?
I think they sell converters to do that.

The idea I had was to first plug the drive into a Linux based computer. Use it to prepare the drive. I have no idea if this will work, but... Here's how I would do it:

      1. Remove all partitions. Use gparted or something similar.
      2. Clone the installation cd to the drive. Open a terminal, find out the device name of your CD and the target drive. Be very careful so as to not over-write that computers main HD! Use fdisk -l to list the drives. Make sure both drives are unmounted before you start. So the command to clone the disk to the HD would be something like "dd if=/dev/sr0 of=/dev/sdb conv=notrunc, noerror" without the quotes, and substituting your drives in. You'll probably want to be root to do this, and it will take a while.
      3. That should boot the installation from the HD when the HD is returned to the tablet.

      Again I haven't tried this.
A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.

DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOG error re. old drivers in Windows 11 install image
        by japlytic
In a Beelink GTR mini PC, mine has an Intel AX200NGW WLAN module.

        Tried (only with keyboard/mouse connected):
        • BIOS + database update
        • Using latest Windows 11 image built with official image creation tool
        • Previous setup version for Windows 11 installer
        • Replacing SSD without a slow block (the previous SSD had a slow block with access time > 500 mS)
        • TPM reset (worked to the point where DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOG error message is displayed briefly after the point of stalling)
        • Disabling power to WLAN and LAN modules in BIOS (Advanced > AMD PBS > PCI Express Configuration)

Linx 1020 windows tablet bios required
        by Xohaib
        Hello everyone,

I’m looking for a full 8MB BIOS dump (.bin) for the Linx 1020 tablet with the Intel Atom x5-Z8350 processor. My device is currently not powering on, and I believe the BIOS might be corrupted. I plan to reflash it using a CH341A programmer and SOIC8 clip.

If anyone has a working Linx 1020 and could share a verified full dump from the SPI BIOS chip (usually Winbond 25Q64 or similar), I’d really appreciate it. A clean dump from a known working unit would help restore my board safely.

If the dump is from a Z8300 variant, please note it —...

Chinese windows tablet bios lock removal
        by nike486dx
Long story short: bought a 8” generic windows tablet (based on Atom x5-z8350, bios chip model is Gigadevice 25LQ64CVIG, uefi vendor is AMI Aptio) for some experiments, and it came with bios lock! I dont have any decent 1.8v programmers at hand nor do i have knowledge in modding uefi firmware, so decided to play safe: dumped the bios with AFU utility, which i attach here. I am hoping to get it unlocked. Also included hwinfo screenshots with general information, the board itself looks generic without any markings.
