Re: car, motorcycle programming or decoding
you need to study all the communication methods .
then there are things like can bus .
then learn about immobilisers .
once you understand how it works then you can start playing around with it .

Re: car, motorcycle programming or decoding
Okay cool.
So how much do you know about cars? more so the electronic systems?
Mind me asking: What made you want to move into car electronic repairs / diagnostics / flashing?Last edited by MJ-meo-dmt; 11-23-2018, 05:15 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: car, motorcycle programming or decoding
car ECUs get faulty rarely. Thus, you have to work in a big city to receive many faulty ECUs a month. you cannot open a repairshop just for ECU, because no costumer brings his/her car to you for ECU problems. instead, they go to car repair centers. therefore, you have to find a number of car repair centers that outsource their ECU repairs to you.
A ECU does not need only programming. they usually need IC replacement. Thus, you have to learn ECU ICs. First, study ECU boards comprehensively to find out whether you can fix them or not.Last edited by caspian; 11-23-2018, 12:57 PM.Leave a comment:

What are you looking for? I do those things to a point... I lean more towards circuit repairs and reverse engineering on ECU circuits.Leave a comment:

by araxnidoDear friends, I want to share my experience repairing an ASUS TUF FX506L gaming laptop motherboard: DABKXDMB8E0_F_BKXD. Boardview and schematic are available, as well as the BIOS and ITE ROM.
When the customer brought in this laptop, it was initially dead; it showed no signs of booting for any reason. After hours of measurements, checking each stage, MOSFET, and seeing if there was a short circuit in any capacitor, I discovered a strange 0.7V leakage voltage on the 3V_S5 rail, particularly on the PL9 coil, with the board not powered on. There were 3V_LDO and 5V_LDO voltages, which... -

by bk304I am working on a Dell precision 3560 with a locked BIOS. I used AsProgrammer software with the CH341A v1.7 set at 3.3V. AsProgrammer is the only software that works with the CH341A that lists the W25R256JV. Reading the 25R256JV with this setup returned garbage results. I switched to my T48 programmer and it identified the chip as a 25Q256JV and appeared to read the chip perfectly.
I need to reprogram the chip but I am not sure if the programming the 25R256JV with the 25Q256JV setting will work. I don't want to risk bricking the computer.
Anybody have any experience or...-
