    Windows 2000 dual monitor.

    Hello Everyone,

I want to enable dual monitor mode one of my PCs which still runs Windows 2000 Professional.

Only problem is that I can't get it to work.

In System properties I can see that both graphics cards are detected by Windows. The AGP card is an ATi Rage Pro 128 16MB and the PCI card is an S3 Trio Virge 325 4MB card.
If I start the PC with the AGP card, the PCI card will have a resource conflict and come up with an exclamation mark next to it in device manager.
If I start the PC with the PCI card, the AGP card is detected and shows no problems. But when I go into Display Properties, only one monitor and one card is shown. Not two monitors and two cards.

I got dual monitor mode to work on my other PC by booting up with PCI card first. The other PC has a Jetway V266B motherboard and also runs Windows 2000 Professional. This PC on other hand uses an Aopen AX6BC motherboard with a 500MHz PIII processor.
I don't know if it's a motherboard conflict or something else, but I feel that I have done something wrong regarding the software.

I want to get dual monitor mode to work because I always had two monitors side by side until I took the Jetway PC away for something else. How do I get dual monitor to work??

    Thanks.

I tried switching different PCI cards and I still have no success with dual monitor. I think I will have to switch to Linux soon because Windows is driving me mad.

this happened to me. Check if the BIOS will like it. My mobo's BIOS refuses to use both vid cards, so it won't work with linux or anything else. it keeps saying resource conflict.
