    Transistor Replacement Help

Hey guys. Long story short, I need some help finding a suitable replacement for a BC200Y Transistor for a circuit board I'm working on. I'm not familiar enough with Transistors to choose a replacement on my own quite yet. If someone knows a thread that can help me or if they can just tell me a good alternative, that'd be great. Thanks in advance!

P.S. I also need to replace a LM431BCZ, but I already found a TL431CLP Transistor which has a lot of the same values. Just wanted to run it by you guys before placing the order.

    Re: Transistor Replacement Help

BC200Y is NTE 159 which is a PNP Silicon, Lo-Noise Audio Amp, Switch. It comes in a
TO-92 Case, Max Collector Current (Amps):1, Collector to Base (Volts):80, Collector to Emitter (Volts):80, Emitter to Base (Volts):5, Forward Current Gain:180, Max Collector Power Dissipation (Watts):0.625, Typical Freq (MHz):200.
With the flat side down and pins at the bottom, the pins are Emitter Base Collector.
Yes the LM431BCZ can replace TL431CLP as they both are NTE 999 which is an Adjustable Precision Shunt Regulator and not a Transistor. With the flat side down and pins at the bottom, the pins are Cathode Anode Reference.
    Hope this helps.

      PNP transistor symbol?
      by SuperAman
I have a question about PNP transistor symbol. Usually the emitter arrow pointing in the direction of the base is at top where the collector would be. I got asked on a test where the arrow is pointing toward the base but was in the spot of the collector. The answer choices was PNP or NPN and forward biased or reverse biased. So is it a PNP that is forward biased or reverse biased? Usually on the schematics for PNP the Emitter is on the top and collector is on the bottom....

Bias matching replacement transistor - Parasound 2250
      by Haaheim
      Hi guys!

I am currently working on a Parasound 2250 (class AB), which had one defective channel. Components in the signal paths have been replaced, including an output transistor (2SC3519).

According to the manufacturer, bias is adjusted by measuring 1-3mV across the output resistors. The original ones are completely fine around 1.5mV, but the replacement is not. Initially, I got a couple from eBay, assumed they were fake (they were) and was able to source a replacement locally. This exhibits similar behaviour, being around 0.6-0.8mV on its emitter resistor....

      Smd code to part number
      by esinior
Hi i have a smd part with probably mark "QO 11" or "Q0(zero) 11" on it, and its package is SOT89, i doubt its KTB1260 PNP transistor, but in measuring with diode mode of multimeter it shows number 1.4 between emitter and collector pins and its not open circuit, and .59 from collector to base and .8 from emitter to base , and these numbers doesn't match a pnp transistor, i couldn't find any part number and datasheet for it, does anybody have information for that part number?
I've attached pics of this part
      Thanks...

Unknown transformer : how to find a good replacement part ?
      by the_rem
      Hello guys,

I would like a quite old but still good 800 W ATX PSU to be repaired. The problem was an extremely heavy coil whine coming from the small secondary transfomer on the PCB.

I desoldered it hoping the references on the upper side would allow me to find a adequate replacement part. Sadly the written references drove me nowhere but to the manufacturer (I-MAG). I sent them a message like a bottle in the see asking them to send me a datasheet of the transformer. And... They responded ! I received a kind of datasheet (see attachment) but my competencies do not allow...

Question about current balancing in LED strings
      by EasyGoing1
I'm sure most of you are familiar with Paul Daniels ... who is someone I consider to be an expert in what he does. Not to mention he's an incredibly wonderful person and is always willing to help people find knowledge.

He used this simple design to balance the current in some LED strings

and I have a couple of questions about it if anyone can answer:

      1) What would determine the values of the emitter resistors?

      2) The fact that the collector of one transistor is connected to the base of all of them ... why would that not...
