    Traded the beast for a P4 2.6C. Much cooler IMHO even when using my moded TT Volcano 7+ heatsink with 2.8k rpm Pentium iii Fan.

    Feel like an ass for trading it to a local guy here in my city. Although he did ask for a 1 week grace/test period wherein if he does'nt like the processor's performance his gonna return it to me and vice versa.

    Sigh, I'm starting to love this 2.6C already.

    If this does happen I'm gonna have to take the plunge and do get a better heatsink then.

      I just built me a Core 2 Duo 6400 with a Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 and it runs cool as a cucumber

        @dungbeetle:

        Damn it, dungbeetle stop tempting me to buy a new mobo and board.

        Anyways, what are u using on that thing stock cooler or something exotic?

        BTW, I'm really loving the "old" Northwood P4. They seem to run a lot cooler than the p4 2.8E Prescott I traded. I just hope the guy I traded with loves that P4 "E."

          Im using a Zalman 9500-LED copper heatsink on the Core 2 Duo. It cost about $50 but its cool

          On the 3.0 Prescott I am using a stock intel cooler with arctic silver ceramic and right now its at 47 according to the intel active monitor. Not bad for stock cooler but I may change it when I yank the board for re-capping.

            BUMP!!!

            Just wanted to say that the deal went through and I am now the proud owner of a p4 2.6"C" which runs significantly cooler than my original 2.8"E"

            Anyways just a screeenshot:

            BTW, I set MBM +2c higher so the temp is actually 37c.

              Thats good. My 2.4 Celeron ran cooler but I am happy with my 3.0 Prescott. Its noticably faster in most areas....
