well i have bad news for anyone with Optimius. The nvidia driver is literally dependent on the intel apu driver. I disabled the intel driver, nvidia driver showed up in the device manager, but not in the selectable graphics drivers on the resolution screen. I then uninstalled both drivers. Tried to install the nvidia driver, and the installer literally told me to install the intel graphics driver first. Optimus works by ether having the APU render it, or, if selected, sending the video data to be rendered on the dedicated card. So the nvidia card is dependant on the intel driver to send it data for rendering
this kind if pisses me off cause I wanted to use Pinnacle Studio with the nvidia card, cause it has nvidia CUDA optimizations. But the studio executable and background renderer, even if both selected to run on the nvidia card (and do according to the icon), the background renderer will stop being able to communicate with the program itself. and just stop being able to update objects. Kind of pisses me off.
but hey, sure as fuck runs better then on the C2D T7300. And I just have 4 menus, and 38 more to go, to make this blu ray.
