Mediamarkt / Question for the Germans

How is Mediamarkt dealing with warranty on products they sell? Do you have to deal with mediamarkt directly on warranty issues or may you contact the manufacturers direct?

their Greek shop has a nice IBM thinkpad r50e which i am looking at : pM 750 1.8ghz, 15", 512, 80gb, 15" - 599 euro

i will check it out with them directly but i was wondering if anyone had any bad experience with mediamarkt in this respect.

In Germany you have to bring it back to the point of purchase. Then they will send them to the manufacturer or to an authorized serviceprovider.
As most produkts aren`t availiable in those speziall konfigurations, you can`t handle warranty with the manufacturer. But may be some laptops are genuine buildts.

hmm i thought that would be the case.

i think ibm is a good choice though cos many repair parts available on ebay etc.

lol there is the ibm r52 now at a store i do business with before.

pM 1.73 740, 512, 80gb, dvdr, gigabit, 15", 3 year warranty and xp pro ENG (suprising to see that here) - 699 euro

seems a good time to buy laptops if you are not interested in games
