    Cbb61

There must be a gazillion capacitors with a CBB61 designation. These are commonly used for ceiling fans and the like.

What in the heck does CBB61 mean?

It is a series of capacitor, other series are CBB60, CBB65, CBB80

What is the significance of these particular letters and numbers?

        Re: Cbb61

        For example: “CBB60” Capacitor
        C – meaning Capacitor
B – meaning the Dielectric is a non-polar organic film
B – meaning the Dielectric material is polypropylene
60 – meaning Plastic can motor run capacitor.Broadly applied to starting and running of AC single-phase motors at 50/60Hzfrequency for AC motor, electric engine, water pump, generator and high efficiency compressors of refrigerators etc.

The CBB61 capacitor and the CBB60 capacitor are basically the same in material and process, but the shape is different. The CBB61 capacitor is generally a square box plastic case, and the CBB60 capacitor is a cylindrical plastic case. Both the CBB61 and CBB60 capacitors are a type of polypropylene film capacitor and are all runing capacitors. CBB60 is mainly used for pumps, washing machines, compressors, etc. with high power. The CBB61 is mostly used for low power electric fans.

65 – meaning P2 Anti-explosion metal capacitor can motor run capacitor

OK. That's exactly in the information that I was looking for.

          Much obliged.

Likorall 200 Ceiling Hoist - Lithium battery conversion
            by DanielCoffey
I am considering a Lithium battery conversion for our Likorall 200 Ceiling Hoist as it is about at the end of its current set of batteries but I was wondering if there are any considerations I need to think about such as voltage regulation.

It is used for powered transfers of a disabled person from chair to bed a few times a day in a private household. It is our own property and is 6 years old.

            ===

It is fitted with a pair of Yuasa 12V 2.4Ah AGM batteries in series for a 24V system. The batteries are the long thin type with the terminals on one end...

            Ceiling Fan Capacitor
            by RD_Atlanta
Perhaps someone could provide some direction.
            - Ceiling fan, 25 years old, used 2/3 of every year but very clean.
            - Temps dropping so I shut it off one night.
            - The next day, after starting it the motor area began producing a subtle but strange noise that I can only describe as imagine two Phillips head screwdrivers and occasionally one of the screwdriver shafts slides down the other (a clean metallic scraping). The repetition is random. Only happens wen the motor is running (the bearings are fine). I tightened all mechanical components.
            - Then the medium speed (the...

TDGAUDIO NFC-83A ceiling speaker crossover repair(no output)
            by r2digital
Hey guys, im trying to figure out why my ceiling speaker has no output from the woofer or tweeter. I cannot seem to get a resistance at the main input speaker terminals but i did measure resistance at the woofer and at the tweeter wires individually and everything seems to be OK. Ive done a little bit of troubleshooting on my own and when i was probing the negative terminal in combination with any component (PTC fuse, the capacitor, and any of the resistors) on the crossover i get no continuity what so ever. However, when i take the same model speaker but a fully working one and i probe the negative...

            Commonly used SMD capacitors
            by Jmine
I'm hoping to order some SMD capacitors for the first time and I was wondering which size and value are mostly used in laptops. I'm looking to buy an assortment of capacitors. Any thoughts?

            Ceiling Fan Speed Capacitor
            by Baldrick
I've got a bulging capacitor in my ceiling fan that only gives me high speed.

            It's a 4-wire guy and I'm having a heck of a time finding a direct replacement. I've attached a pic of mine. As you can see, it's a 4uf - 5uf. The closest I can find is a 5uf - 5uf.

            Would this work?

            Thanks!...
