Do you mean Nippon Chemi-con KZN?

KZN was never a bad series. KZE, KZH, KZM, and KZN are all excellent. KZG, KZJ, KZV, TMV, TMJ, and possibly some other ultra-low ESR liquid electrolytics from NCC were the problem series. All ultra-low ESR wet electrolytics have been discontinued from them in favor of polymers. I don't know if NCC ever fixed the issues that beleaguered the KZG series before they were discontinued a couple years ago.

Oh, wait. You were asking if KZN is a good replacement for KZG?

It might or might not work depending on the application. KZG is rated for a higher ripple rating and about half the ESR rating.

Sorry about that. I got my seriesssssss all mixed up, and when I edited my otoginal post I didn't change the subject which made it more confusing.

I have bulged KZGs and trying to decide what to use for replacement.
          I'll go do some readin'
