    Necessary to replace small caps?

    Hey guys,

I got one question. On my BenQ FP731 monitors, I replaced all the Elite 1000uf 16V and Elite 470uf 35V caps on the power supply board with Panasonic FC caps of the same size and ratings.

There are a few other tiny Lelon caps on the power supply board, should I replace them as they are Lelon?

I know the rule that only caps over 470uf are more likely to fail, but as the small caps are Lelon should they be replaced also?

    Thanks,
    Newbie2

It's a subjective matter - if it's on PSU rails, you may want to replace 220uF and 100 uF caps also. You can get Panasonic FC 470uF/25V, Nichicon PJ 220uF/35V and NCC LXF 100uF/35V in 8 mm, and these are useful in a wide variety of situations, so it's worth keeping quantity of those around for repairs.

      Dear Friend,
Why not? The no. of capacitors inside a monitor is usually limited. The monitor of the picture below was taken after its complete replacement of capacitors.
