Proline 19" Lcd TV model LVD198W

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The green SCK 054 which I believe to be the thermistor limiter which is an inrush limiter has blown apparently what causes this to happen is something else on the motherboard I have been told! It has also blown the fuse which is easy to change. Can any one tell me what causes this to blow it seems to be on the power regulated side of the motherboard. I have checked other components particularly the capacitors to see if any of these show signs of being blown, but I cannot see anything un-towards with them. There has been a capacitor replaced on the board as I can see evidence of this as some heat sink has bee applied around the base of the cap and the soldier has been disturbed before on the other side. Could this be the area of repair? I can check the capacitors round this area by taking them out but don't really want to do this unless someone here agrees with me. Is there a particular problem with these sets that anyone can steer me towards? The SCK 054 has no values on it for me to be able to judge what to replace it with the board where it came out says RT1 does this give some idea to what to replace the 054 with as it is possible that this just blew and could be the overriding factor and took out the fuse as well? The tv motherboard where the problem lies says it is: LS1904006a version 2,0 - 2007.06.01 if this helps. Does anyone have a schematic diagram for this TV as this would help?
    Many Thanks Chris

If someone else did work on the tv and it's blowing things on the primary side of the power supply, I'd now first check polarity of caps, leftover solder bridges from poor soldering, and even excessive flux. There is a chance that the bridge rectifier may be bad too.

LG 47LB5DF blown power supply board
        by cmlewis89
        Hi folks,

I'm new to this forum. So my trusty 17-year-old LG 47" LCD recently died. As I was booting it up, I heard a hum followed by a loud bang, sounds of pieces flying around, and loss of power to the unit. Inspecting the PSU, I saw two obvious problems: a blown thermistor (bang + flung pieces) and a visibly bulging main cap. Inspecting as many components as I could with my Fluke MM, I diagnosed that the following components on the "hot side" of the board were also bad: one of the 2 main MOSFETs, main 8A fuse, small cap (25V 47uF) connected to main caps, and a blown...
