Does anyone know of any local resources for caps, etc in the Brooklyn, Queens area ?

All I know of is Allstate in Jamaica Queens.. All the other stuff I knew of years ago is long gone..

Place on Steinway Ave (can't remember name)

Any other local place that jars the memory ?

Hello everyone!

I hope this is the correct place to post this, if not please let me know and I will post in the appropriate location.

I'm venturing into the intricate world of board repair within electronics, and I'm reaching out to this community for some guidance and shared wisdom. I have tried to do some research myself and find this information on my own, but I don't know what I don't know, and that is really starting to become an insurmountable issue that I cannot overcome. PCI out of resources error, Alienware 17 R4

Alright, pretty much at the end of my rope. Alienware 17 R4 7700HQ GTX 1060. Some background, Bought the laptop used had no ram and no hardrive. installed a new 2Tb nvme drive, fresh new install of Windows 10, 32 gigs 2666MHz DDR4. Every so often (every 5 boots or so) it fails to boot and the Bios has an error message Pci out of resources. gets stuck like this for a while and what seems like randomly, will boot correctly for a while. just had it all apart, re-pasted cleaned everything top to bottom (thinking maybe some debris was floating around). Cmos battery is right at 3v flat and no obvious...

Hi all,

Was wondering if anyone can recommend some resources for motherboard repair on general laptops etc.

Have been doing apple MacBook repairs for the last year or so so I understand the way they work with power rails but I'm at a loss when it comes to the Windows laptops

Ie, power rails sequences, power rail names, rail requirements l,

I watch a bit of north bridge fix and I notice he's always showing a short on a mosfet on most laptops etc, always checking on the gate of a mosfet or source drain etc

Basic electronic knowledge resources

Hey all,
I've got a few XBOX power problems but don't know much about anything concerning electronics troubleshooting outside of replacing caps. Instead of coming on here and wasting people's time being confused when they say check rectifier, transistor, resistor, etc or whatever it may be and then having to ask "what is that?", I wanted to learn and build up a knowledge base first so I'm not completely clueless and can apply the good advice people give without confusing the situation more by not knowing what i am doing.
