I'm not talking about ubuntu, but there is a super stable OS that is based off the kernal XP uses and it can run any windows program, very lightweight, and is open source.

wine can be installed under ubuntu

works great!

it is run off 100% non-microsoft code but runs some windows apps (stuff that doesnt get too intgrated into the core). if you need ie6, google ies4linux and go from there

i heard about that os, tried it, hated it

windows emulator

only it is technically not an emulator

lets you run windows programs on linux

ok, some do not work. go here and search for you favorite apps. it will tell you whether they work or not
