Without seeing it kinda hard to tell, but I think there are 2 problems. One is the panel itself and the other being the board, from what you are telling me.

                      Re: Vizio E422vl lightning damage

if you have a bad panel, the tv is going to be usually parted out. It is not economical to replace the panel.

                          Re: Vizio E422vl lightning damage

buy a new board or swap stuff around from a working tv. Vertical big lines and colorful singe lines usually is the panel. If you can't get rid of that by squeezing, twisting the frame, or by touching individual tab bonds, there is nothing you can do to fix the panel in a condition like that. So that is your last option... play with each individual tab bond.

Ok. It's real loose due to screws being out so that could be it

no. there tabs are glued to the panel. so sometimes the glue lets go. if you find the offending bonds, you can shim it buy putting something on top of it. So when the frame is on it, the tab bond gets pushed or held down. I am thinking here like a piece of rubber or foam, rolled up tape etc. But if you can't get rid of that, then there is something internally in the LCD itself.

put tab bond failure into youtube and watch a few videos.
