Vizio E422vl lightning damage

My friend gave me this t.v. after it was hit by lightning. No burn marks and no blown capacitor. T.v. turns on and off fine. But the screen is completely white with black and colored vertical lines. Any advice? Tried posting pic but for some reason it won't work.

Probably bad panel.

Unfasten one of the tcon ribbons and see if you get a picture on 50% of the screen.

I just unplugged tcon ribbon. I got half my screen back. That mean a bad board?

No it went all black

It tried to retain some white and colored vertical lines but the black slowly crept up and covered it

aha. so you had only the other one ribbon cable plugged in and all went black?

sounds like you got 2 problems. the tab bonds on the panel and the board.

One sec tho.was I supposed to have both unplugged or switch in and out?

No both were unplugged the second time

with both unplugged it should be black. Plug in the left cable with the right unplugged and then the other way around.

with one of the cable combination you got a half screen. Did the vertical color lines disappear or is it that where the screen retains some white and color lines and the black is creeping up?

Lines disappeared. On half of it. Then switched sides when cables were switched
