I am picking this up. I'm paying a lot of money, way more than usual (£225) but I think it is worth it given it is a 9G Kuro. 50" 1080p. The "Best" TV ever made only beaten by the 9.5G Kuro before Pio gave up the ghost. No TV has ever matched Kuro contrast, black level or brightness. It will most definitely be going up on my wall. I cannot sell this!!
Anyway, I am just wondering if anyone knows much about the 8 blinks of death on these. IIC comm fault. It's intermittent, the set will power up now and then. I'm thinking there's a good chance it's a bad linear regulator, as the IIC (I2C, eye-squared-cee) bus is powered by a 5V->3.3V linear regulator. I've seen someone do a PRO-series Kuro (I think that's 9.5G) with the same fault. Would be nice.
Sorry PZ80, you will be ousted by this Kuro!
Pure plasma pornography...
