my first mac, no power no display

Hello guys,
i'm on vacation, and my brother have MacBook pro that started with the "no display" problem, they tooked to a mac station and they said that mobo was dead.
Model : A1229
2.4GHZ 2X1G 160 Mac OSX
Now, when i connect the psu, the led turns off and there is no way turn the mac on.
This is my first mac, and i never touched one.
What are the tips to follow ?
