    Expensive, yes. It is a dual xeon board with on board scsi and 64 bit PCI slots.. Quite a bit expensive 4+ years ago. It is a server board..so, price was expected to be a bit high.. When it worked, it was a solid workstation/server board which was extremely fast.

  • Supermicro S2DL3 bad cap.

    Hello..Excellent forum here..

    The supermicro board S2DL3 has the bad cap problem as well. It is a dual XEON board with serverworks 3 chipset.. Machine experienced random reboots.. I let it rest for a while until the recent issue with the Dell GX270 bad cap recall came to light. Out of a whim, I checked the board and about 5 1000uf 10v caps were swelled.

    I regret not taking pics..however, I replaced all the 1000uf caps on the board with new panasonic low esr caps..around 19 of them in total.. They original looked like the rubycon knockoff caps..(rulycon) It seems to...
