Hi, it seems this does not work. I tried another dump from here and I got display that way, so I am certain I have a corrupted BIOS. Still, I am hoping to have the proper service tag. Could you recheck the BIOS you gave me? Thank you for your help!...

Hi, I've got a friend's Inspiron 14 5425 which just blinks two orange, five white lights. Was powered off during updates. Here's the BIOS dump. Please help - thank you!

Thank you for this!! I was able to resurrect a bricked S55T-B5233 this way, and it went very smoothly! Now I don't have to replace the motherboard 😀...

Re: Three mobos, poly-modding help needed.
Unfortunately, the 1800uF ZLH only handles 2250mA and has an 18mΩ ESR. I need a ripple current rating of 2800mA+ and a 12mΩ or lower ESR rating. Otherwise, I'd be happy to get capacitors from here instead. Sorry about that.

Re: Three mobos, poly-modding help needed.
Thanks for your response, founder of Badcaps.net.
Indeed, it's probably best that I stick with electrolytics. The only problem is that, after some capacitor searching, I've only come up with only one result for both 1800uF and 3300uF capacitors that are of the right diameter. They're of the Nichicon HW series. Unfortunately, both HW capacitors' ESR is 17mΩ,...

Three mobos, poly-modding help needed.
Hello! I've got three motherboards that I would like to repair by replacing their bad, missing or risky electrolytic capacitors with polymers. Here are the motherboards and the capacitors on or missing from them that I would like to replace:

Biostar P4M800-M7: 3x TK ATWY 1800uF 16V 10mm, 4x TK ATWY 3300uF 6.3V 10mm
FIC AM37-L: 5x Nichicon HM 3300uF 6.3V 10mm, 3x UCC KZG 3300uF 6.3V 10mm
Acer G33T-AM: 3x TK ATWY 1800uF 16V 10mm, 5x TK ATWB 1800uF 6.3V 8mm
I want to use polymers since it seems to be anywhere from difficult to impossible to find suitable...

On my friend's Biostar P4M800-M7 (not Pro), this is an 1800uF 16V TK ATWY.
I hope this helps.Re: Biostar P4M800PRO-M7 NO POST

Re: HP (Asus) M2N68-LA only boots sometimes
Well, I purchased an ESR meter, that being a "12864 Mega328" one from Frentaly of eBay. According to it, several, at the very least, of the board's KZG capacitors have not failed as of yet. That suggests that it's probably the chipset to blame.
Going with that, I heated up the chipset, and so far, I've not had any further no-bootup problems, however, I doubt the likelihood of this lasting, due to the nature of the issue. It's probably best to simply recycle the motherboard, especially since I have already...

Re: HP (Asus) M2N68-LA only boots sometimes
This board indeed has a nVidia chipset, and I experienced the nVidia solder problem for myself on one of my laptops seven years ago (dv9000 w/dedicated graphics), so I do know about that issue. Maybe I should try heating up the nVidia chipset on this board.
I think that I'm going to have to buy an ESR meter, test some of the KZGs from the board, and see if any of them are bad. If the caps are good, the board gets recycled, and if the caps are bad, then the caps get replaced, hopefully resulting in the board being...Last edited by racecar56; 02-18-2017, 08:25 PM.

Re: HP (Asus) M2N68-LA only boots sometimes
Thank you for your response. I have just opened the power supply to check it and all of the caps look great. For the record, the power supply is a Delta DPS-300AB-19 A. Running the motherboard on another power supply still results in the same behavior....Last edited by racecar56; 02-14-2017, 08:54 PM.

HP (Asus) M2N68-LA only boots sometimes
Hello, everyone, I've got an HP Pavilion a6530f computer that got drizzled on, with a problematic Asus M2N68-LA motherboard. First, the backstory:
After the computer was rescued from the weather, I kept trying to power it up to no avail. (That wasn't a good idea, I should have cleaned it first. Lesson learned.) Eventually, I ripped the board out of the PC and cleaned the absolute heck out of it, back and front, and even under the chipset heatsink. After inserting another CPU, I finally got the board to boot, which was an amazing sight. That was in August of 2015. After doing...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hello, everyone!
I'm Joseph, and I repair, build, and also collect computers, which I've been doing for about seven years. I have lots of computers, laptops and desktops alike, and I just love the satisfaction of restoring them from total scrap to beloved treasure.
I've browsed this website a bit in the past, especially once I got into capacitor replacement and soldering not very long ago, with my first project being a Netgear WGR614 router with a single bad capacitor. It would emit a constant squeal...
