Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

I've been involved in the Music business since the late 60's. Starting as Store Manager and Serviceman at a Retail and Rental operation in Toronto, later to become a Long & McQuade store. I then moved on to Yamaha Canada Music as Product R&D and Promotion Specialist and Staff and Dealer Trainer across Canada.
In 1978 I opened up my own store, Musicraft, in London, Ontario where Sales, Rentals and Repairs of Instruments, Sound, Lighting and Speciality Musical equipment were featured.
The call of the West took me to Vancouver in 1983 where I represented Yorkville Sound, Gibson Guitars, RMS Lighting and a portfolio of many other Sound and Lighting products. My Territory included Alberta, BC, NWT, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Oregon.
I returned to London in 1996 and eventually opened up Cottage Electronics and got back into service to Musical Instruments and Sound Equipment from Tube powered Vintage gear to “State of the Art” gear of today. The Entertainment field has grown and merged with the A/V and Presentation segment. Computers, LCD Projectors, Wireless Microphones, Lighting. FX and many other products are seen in almost any venue. Vintage home audio equipment is also a rapidly growing area for me.
The shop includes equipment for speaker & crossover repairs, woodworking and SMT service. Many small metal parts and rollers are fabricated or rebuilt In-House.

Hi all! I'm new here, my name is Michele but I go by FGABIT on most forums. I am from Eastern CT and have just begun tinkering with electronics - what fun :P

This place looked to have quite a bit of interesting and usable information, and I look forward to getting involved.

Hi, My name is Eddie, I am new to forums. I'm 64. I started out fixing tv's and radios in the 60's. In the 80's I went to work in industry and haven't done much cosumer repair since. Now as I get close to reirement I'm looking into electronics hobby activities. I can share what I know about industrial electronics and look to relearn hobby/consumer electronics.

Hello, my name is Eric. I come here in search of your help in diagnosing some TV issues, which I believe to be a psu issue on one TV and hopefully a TCON board on another TV.

I've read through some numerous threads and loved how low-level the help is able to get here.

I've also looked all over the internet for a schematic/service manual for the TV / Power supply for the Toshiba 46L5200U1.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

                          Hi All,

As a retired analytic individual with limited income, I enjoy learning to maintain thing needed around the house. In the past, I have been on the design team for the creation of diagnostic systems as an integral part in the creation of very large parallel processing computer systems in the early '70s and have supported advanced operating systems. I have and enjoy helping other British car owners in identifying and resolving issues in a creative way. In addition, if something is broken, I have no issue researching a solution and trying to fix it. I participate in multiple forums and enjoy helping and receiving help.

Hi and thank you for allowing me to be part of your site. I'm Ben, an aircraft engineer from the UK and primarily joined this site for help and advice over a capacitor I'm trying to replace. However, from reading various posts I feel it can also be both interesting and educational towards expanding my limited electrical knowledge. Every day's a school day! Thanks again.
