    Hello everyone!

I'm writing from Italy and I found this forum while looking for informations about fixing laptop motherboards. I'm a newbie when it comes to electronics repair, so I hope I can learn from the experts here

Well I might as well toss my hat in the ring! My name is Orio and I am at the moment still considered a beginner in all the intense sections of tech repair. My school offered PC repair classes, I thought it sounded fun but after that I was inseparable from repair work. Current working down in South Carolina in a repair shop and am the main tech that does the soldering work, Apple device repairs, and Advanced repairs and diagnostics. I have lingered here for awhile for the openboard view files to help out with my work (Thanks to all that offer those files, such a huge help to us all!).

Cant wait to get to know this forum even more!

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

Hi, I'm Dave and now retired after a career initially in old fashioned teleprinters, exchanges and fax machine maintenance, and since the millennium mainly computers, data networks and IT. In my younger days I built electronic kits but now its more PC building, car diagnostics 3d printing and laser cutting that keeps me busy.
I found the forum earlier today from goggle searches as I'm trying to diagnose an issue with my 2016 Samsung UE49KS7000 TV that often has lines up the screen that 'bleed' from banner text etc - these tend to disappear after the tv has been on for 20mins or so. I was suspecting the TCON board or power supply but now I've got the back off the TV (my googling!) it appears that the TV has no separate TCON board, just Power and Main board with ribbon cable to the panel. My search that led me to this forum was when I was searching for a expected voltages on the PSU board connector to the main board (the board lists the pin functions but not expected voltages). The board is BN44-00878A

I'm gulliblehero from Bristol England, I came upon this forum, whilst researching how to recover my thinkpad t440p from a bios lock. Atm I'm stuck at how to make a dump using a programmer but I hope to figure it out eventually! I'm a bit of a hacker by nature and enjoy learning techy stuff & hope to just have fun lurking the forum and maybe be of help to some folks as well

Well, hello everyone! Been a long time lurker of this awesome forum & site, but it's past time I became a poster, too, so I finally took the plunge and registered. Not to mention, I have questions to ask now that I have been spending more time tinkering with electronics lately. Briefly, I'm an experienced engineer and hacker (as in the proper & original meaning of the word) with hundreds or so computers built and fixed over the past, oh, 20 - 30 years or so, but I haven't been working much on the component/board level until the past few years and except for a few in between... Big fan of hardware hacking & fixer-upper channels on YouTube, particularly the likes of NorthridgeFix, TheCod3r, TronicsFix and the like. Nowadays, I try to set aside more time to fix things on my own as well, hence my (late) arrival here. Cheers.

My favorite laptop is the lenovo thinkpad models. the reason why they ae my favorite is because of the amount you can hack them and dissect them until there is nothing left. My specific thinkpad is the t431s. Right now it is hackintoshed with opencore on macos Catalina.
