Samsung LN46A850. Purchased new like 150 years ago.
This unit recently started doing this.
Power the TV on, it powers up and displays picture. Picture will display fine for about 5-10 mins, then the image degrades with static-like horizontal lines until the set turns off, then the set will turn back on and the process repeats. When the horizontal static lines appear, they push and stretch the remaining image below the static off of the viewable portion of the screen.
While this feels like potential bad caps, I don't have a clue where to focus my efforts. Would a PSU fault cause this, or should I be focusing on the mainboard /TCON timing components?
I took a video, and am currently in the process of taking the TV off the wall. I'll post some pictures of the boards as soon as that gets done.
