    Samsung LNS4041D info needed

    Hi,

Does anyone know where to get free service info for the Samsung lns4041D?
I broke one of the ccfl lamps by pulling up on the inverter board. I really only need some disassembly info to get to the lamps. I don't want to damage anything else. Can anyone give the correct size of the lamp? Is ccfl warehouse a good source of this part?

    Thanks

    Mike

LCD panel is not part of service manual. Much on your own.

      Hello again,

I just replaced two of the ccfl lamps in this Samsung. The correct size of the lamps are 3.0 mm x 900 mm. The ends of the lamps snap into holders at the ends and are not soldered. There is a slight yellow tint to the lower 3 inches of the screen (replacement lamps) when a white scene is displayed. Is this due to the age of the new vs old lamps? Are there differences in the ccfl lamp color temperatures from different manufacturers ? Will this go away with time?
I scratched the white plastic diffuser sheet behind the glass panel - are these available?
The real problem with this set was the bad solder joint on the power supply board mentioned in this thread.

The set also had Samwha caps in the supply. They were not bulged and esr check ok, but I replaced them with Panasonic FM series.

      Thanks,

      Mike

CCFLs are like other fluorescent bulbs. The mix of phosphors coating the inside of the tube determine the color of the light. I wouldn't expect that color to change much with time.
