    Toshiba 42HP84...Troubleshooting...

    All,
    I saved another one from the landfill. The plan is to use this one in the kids room
    .
    The units bezel is really beat up (scratches-deep). My first look at the unit I passed on it but came back a day later and grabbed it.

    Anyways it has a picture and powers on. I let it run for 3 hours yesterday to see if it had any other issues.

    Below is what I see, Sorry on the bad pics ;


    The screen, other than those two bars, and sound is very good.

    I have played around with Samsung and Phillips Plasma TVs this one seems a little different from my readings.

    Those repairs were Y Sustain and Buffer boards.

    Searching on BadCaps Forum not seeing much on this TV...Any suggestions?

          Anyone have any experience with Toshiba Plasma TVs?

          From the dead block, not complete vertical or horizontal line, and my previous experience I am thinking its a buffer, some kind of connection, or a cable issue.

          Anyone?

              TCL 55S425 few horizontal lines, potential failure on both side of panel/buffer board

              All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
              • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
              • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault
