Hello; I am John at J D Electronics in Poland Maine. I have had an RCA model M50WH72S setting dead in my shop for over a year now and is now mine. The set would start intermittently and run for an hour and die. Other times it would not start at all and the LED would flash 5 or 6 times and stop. With no support from Thomson/ RCA, I was on my own. The extended warranty Co said to try the light engine first. I replaced the light engine with no improvement, just the led flashing. I was not going to pay 500 to 700 dollars for other boards to try to fix this piece of JUNK.I have since read several blogs that point to power supply caps as being the problem. I took this piece of junk apart for the last time before I hauled it to the dump. I pulled out the power supply on the left as you face the back of set. I noticed 2 Electrolytic caps had " domed shaped tops ,which is a good sign of failure or overheating. They are 1000 ufd @ 35Volts 105 degree rating. They were both bad along with 2 more on the same board ! They are labeled CP624 and CP647 on the bottom edge of the board inside the "c" shaped heat sink. The other two are above the chopper transformer labeled CP641 @ CP639. replacing these fixed the set. Call DigiKey 800-344-4539 part # 493-1588 are ten for $7.00. Don't spend money on a lamp you don't need.

Re: RCA M50wh72s
Welcome! Glad you fixed it.
What were the brand(s) of the caps that failed?
If you do some reading through these forums, you'll see the prevailing method is to recap the entire board of any that are of the "vent" type. Especially those that are known crap brands.
Do you have an ESR meter for your business? If not, you may want to invest in one as it will help finding and solving problems that elude many shops.
Cheers!

by DynaxSCHi, i have an ASUS PRIME Z590M-PLUS board, which had an shorted Z590 chipset. I have succesfully exchanged the chipset to a factory new one, however there is a serious problem with the Intel Management Engine (later on: ME) not beeing activated after the chipset device replacement.
For lower chipset families (on ASUS boards) it worked to program the oldest bios version into the SPI rom, and the bios had activated the Management Engine itself by default - there was a message on the screen prior booting - "BIOS is updating Management Engine ..... . by DynaxSCHi,
I have the above mentioned bord after repair, which was related to a lot of missing smd devices on the back of the board.
There were almost 20 devices missing, caps, resistors and some diodes/mosfets.
The board is generally working now, all PCIe ports are working, Windows installs normally.
However I have a problem with SATA ports 4-7 (the board has 8 SATA ports) - disks are not beeing recognized by the BIOS neither by Windows (which is usually normal in case BIOS does not recognize them).
The SATA 4-7 driver network is quite simple chipset<->buffers/drivers<->SATA... -
Hello, my HP doesn't start, and I found a burnt IC on the motherboard. I can't read the full description due to the damage. The component is labeled 3h=5g. Could someone please advise me where I could buy the component or its suitable replacement? Thank you. It's marked as PUG8 on the motherboard.

I am troubleshooting a couple of coolmaster ATX power supplies.
I suspected that the faulty components are the sps supervisor IC's labeled "IN1S313I" and"IN1S424I".
I couldn't find any information about them online exept for their name, role and the manufacturer witch is "infsitronix".
No datasheet, no pinout, i even tried to email infsitronix but no reply so far.
I can't find a supplier to buy it either.
Any help of how to test it and where to buy/order it is appreciated.
