Ok , so i got this TV from a friend of mine.So to start it off Its a plasma TV.When turned on it the red light comes on , then after a couple seconds the light goes off, and it repeats like that. You can hear the Relay click on for a few seconds then off ... So it wasnt an obvious short on the mains input thats for sure. I opened it up , and mind you, i have never seen an inside of a plasma TV so it suprised me to say the least. There are 3 massive power boards. The main one , then we have the board that is connected to another board which then goes to the TV (i assume those are some kind of drivers on it) , but then going out of the second POWER board the third Power board is connected to it. (Now i hope you are following me cuz im trying to explain in full detail at what im looking at. ) The fuse on the second board's connecter was blown,(the fuse goes directly to the third board)And finally the third board is some kind of amplifier board that is directly connected to the screen. Huh i hope you understood what i was saying.
So i started probing around :
First board , nothing unusual , no shorts all good.
Second board again no shorts all good.
Third board is the one that had full short across the main voltage line.
After some probing i have found(1 of many of these transistors) and desoldered a faulty "Bipolar Small signal transistor", The short is now gone.
And finally i need help because i have no idea what a BSST Is or what it can be replaced with. So thats what i need help with , and hopefully i can learn something new today.
The code for the mosfet is this T30F124 Here is the datasheet https://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datash.../GT30F124.html
Now i have some scrap PSU boards . but all i can find is N channel P channel mosfets , so nothing of the sorts. So thats my question , can it be replaced by a MOSFET? and not exactly a bipolar small signal transistor.
