Lanc for Sony Handycam

Has any body built Lanc controllers for camcorders ?

I know Sony made at least two editing boards that used Lanc and I got a Pinnacle Studio 400 capture and editing system (which thankfully allows input from sonething OTHER than the nasty parallel port video capture box) that uses a special serial cable to control the camera over lanc.
