    Panasonic TX-42PV71F Video nok, Audio ok

    Hi,

    the Plasma TV from Panasonic (12 years old) shows the following error pattern:

    Input over HDMI 1 or 2 => same error pattern
    Audio signal ist ok
    No Video visible (the plasma screen is dark grey)

    All Elkos have no visible damage

    The error appears after 5 minutes.
    A cold spray treatment brought no change.

      The correct short name is TH-42PV71F.

          The error image is also shown with an input signal at Scart connector.

                  Hi,

                  The Plasma TV is working again.

                  Solution:
                  DG PCB TNPA4226 Connector DG5 was oxidized.

                  After cleaning, the picture is back.

                      Hey everyone!

                      I've gotten this TV for free, neither have it seen a TV repair man, neither have it been opened before.

                      This post describes my entire troubleshooting process of this TV.

                      When I turn it on using the ON/OFF switch at the side of the TV, the light rapidly flashes green, then it stays on, but it does not react to any of the remote buttons, side buttons, and doesn't play audio.

                      I've taken the unit apart, and I've started to check some voltages:

                      The Problem: This player has a toggle switch to select between Stereo, Mono R, and Mono L. Regardless of the setting it outputs the sound to both the L&R audio jacks. In the Mono R position, the audio output level is normal (from both the L and R audio output jacks), in the Stereo position the audio output is about half the volume, and in Mono L, it's about 3/4 the volume. Something about putting it into Stereo mode is causing the volume to drop significantly and I can't figure it out.

                      Hi There,

                      This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

                      After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

                      Hi,

                      My barely 3 year old TV has stopped displaying video, although the video output comes for a few seconds after turning ON which displays the manufacturers logo then shows the home screen (all this with some blue flicker) then the video goes blank and the screen is dark blue with the backlight on. The audio output works perfectly and the TV also takes in voice commands(smart TV).

                      The TCON board has the following Chips -
                      Samsung VTU63A0
                      RT6939 - 2nos.
