LG 60PA5500-UG has messed up display

i usually dont work on plasma sets but i figured as long as i can work on it at the guys house, instead of carrying the beast to and fro, and if maybe its just a simple board replacement, it could be worth it?

the display is glitchy...not all there...corrupted? i dont know how to describe it so see the pictures.

i really know very little about plasma screens. could this be a damaged panel? or could i fix it by replacing a board?

if theres hope, then i could justify going out there once to diagnose which board is at fault, and then a second time when the part arrives to put it in.

the guy lives about 40 minutes away so multiple trips to diagnose things is out of the question.

help if you can please. i like to save tvs!

You could check for bad solder connections on the large coils on YSUS board (L441, L442) or the large coils on the ZSUS board (L241, L245).

The panel appears to be priming but suffering from mal-discharge so I suspect ZSUS rather than YSUS, but I would re-solder both boards.

I don't suspect power supply issue.

Use flux and don't be stingy with solder. Use a good wattage soldering iron. Check for arcing damage on the solder traces which you may have to rebuild with some appropriate de-solder braid or appropriate gauge wire.
