    Samsung UN55D6300SF Blinking Front LED

Same series as UN55D6000. Edge lit with possible bad LED strips per this thread. https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=34566

New replacement LED strips available from China on ebay but there are different connector options.

Shopjimmy has repair kit for power supply BN44-00424A.

I am getting 390VDC on PFC circuit. With cable between main board and power supply disconnected, there is no backlight and I am measuring 0V at both LED outputs. Get 0V with LEDs disconnected.

With LED tester, one string get 140V and second string gets 0V.

Assuming there is at least one bad LED string from LED tester results. Stripped a few screw heads taking apart the panel so ordered a screw extractor kit. Have some time to do some more research.

If the replacement strips are the same thing. ie; same no. of LEDs and same individual working voltage and the connector is the only difference, then you could just solder on the wires to the new strips. Of course noting the polarity and connecting them correctly. Yes it can work.

The screw extractor I ordered was too big so I ended up drilling out the screws. Even being careful I ended stripping a few more screws.

With the panel apart, the edge lit strips could be identified and were 2-pin. I ordered replacements on ebay from China.

With the TV put back together, I was going to keep it to replace my old Vizio 55" LCD but noticed a small piece of double sided tape had floated onto the screen area from the bottom. There was a small defect on the screen by the corner nearby. A little annoying but tolerable.

Getting the tv apart once again, I carefully lifted up the corner of the panel and moved the tape. I did notice I wasn't careful enough the first time and the panel may not have been exactly centered and flush. The initial corner damage could been caused when I pushed the bezel down to align the screw holes with the panel slightly off.

Powering up again. the damage had spread into a 7" crack. Was such a nice TV and super sharp.

Anyone know how to release this connector? Dont want to force it.

Edit: Nevermind. It's a flex with the flip lock but the black part is a "handle" to pull it out and help align it.
